Induction
The BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum preserves and honours BC’s sport heritage by recognizing extraordinary achievement in sport. Since 1966, the BC Sports Hall of Fame has inducted 452 individuals and 69 teams. Once inducted, these individuals and teams become known as Honoured Members and Honoured Teams respectively and are honoured in the BC Sports Hall of Fame’s Hall of Champions. Their stories of triumph, leadership, overcoming adversity, and trailblazing innovation have shaped British Columbia sport and culture for well over a century. By remembering, honouring, and celebrating these individuals and teams, the hope is their stories inspire future generations to follow their dreams in sport and life.
Nomination Process
Nominations for individuals and teams to be considered for induction into the BC Sports Hall of Fame are accepted throughout the course of the year until the annual June 30th deadline. Nominations are accepted for individuals or teams in the following categories:
- Athlete
- Team
- Builder
- Media
- Pioneer
- WAC Bennett Award
