Bill Good Sr. was a mainstay in sports broadcasting in British Columbia for many years. He covered a variety of sports including swimming, diving, curling, and football. He was a broadcaster for international events such as the Commonwealth Games, the Olympic Games, and various world championships.
Good covered the BC Lions football team and the Canadian Football League for many years on CBC Radio, CKWX, and CKNW. While he was with CKNW, Good hosted “Touchdown Topics” which was a favourite of BC football fans.
Despite broadcasting a range of sports, Good’s love was curling and his work in the sport was legendary. He missed only two Briers (Canadian men’s curling championship) in some forty years and his absence at those was due to illness.
Good’s successes in the field of sports broadcasting have been recognized through his induction into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
