BCSHOF Receives Donation from Ron Jones and Founder’s Cup Charity Classic

Vancouver, BC – The BC Sports Hall of Fame is proud to be the recipient of two major donations from the Founder’s Cup Charity Classic, as well as a personal donation from its founder and BC Sports Hall of Famer, Ron Jones.

The Founder’s Cup Charity Classic donated:

• $10,000 to the BC Sports Hall of Fame
• $10,000 to the BC Sports Hall of Fame Foundation

In addition, Ron Jones personally donated:
$50,000 to the BC Sports Hall of Fame Foundation.

Allison Mailer, Executive Director of the BC Sports Hall of Fame says: “On behalf of the BC Sports Hall of Fame, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Ron and Alma Jones and the Founders Cup Charity Classic for their generous donations to the BC Sports Hall of Fame and our foundation. With their support, the BC Sports Hall of Fame will be able to continue to celebrate this province’s sports history and to inspire the next generation of athletes through our education and community outreach programs.”

Mr. Jones made his personal gift of $50,000 to the BC Sports Hall of Fame Foundation in recognition of his retirement from the Foundation board. After decades of supporting the BC Sports Hall of Fame and its Foundation, Mr. Jones officially retired from his volunteer role. It is with immense gratitude that the donation was received. To mark the occasion and acknowledge his leadership, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to add Mr. Jones to our distinguished list of Honourary Trustees.

Since its inception in 1995, the Founder’s Cup Charity Classic has donated over $375,000 to the BC Sports Hall of Fame and an incredible $2,000,000 to other worthy charities.
