Reg Stone and his brother Roy were considered the “Curling Ambassadors of BC” throughout Canada because of their good sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct. With Reg as skip and Roy as second or third, the pair competed at the local, regional, and national level. Both brothers were elected to the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 1974.
Reg skipped the Stone rink to seven BC championships and placed no lower than fourth in Canadian championships six times between 1945 and 1962. He was also part of the Stone rink with brother Roy that took the BC title for five consecutive years from 1977-81 in the over-sixty provincial playdowns.
Reg was a member of rinks in many Western Canadian bonspiels. Wins in these events included the Saskatoon Car Spiel in 1956 and the Totem Bonspiel in Vancouver in 1958.
Reg represented Canada at the 1973 Canadian seniors championships for the Seagram Stone.
