Audrey Griffin, affectionately known as “Mike”, moved to Victoria in 1914, where she started swimming at age thirteen. Griffin won in all categories she entered, but enjoyed the long distance events the most. Although considered Olympic material, she did not get a chance to compete in international events due to lack of funding.

Griffin competed in the “Through Victoria Swim” (three miles in length) twelve times, winning nine and placing second three times. This race was open to both male and female competitors.

She won the BC championship title thirteen times in various events. She won the Pacific Northwest championships 27 times in various events and the Alberta championship four times. Griffin claimed the Dominion championship five times and placed second another three times.
