Executive Director Announcement

VANCOUVER (Wednesday, July 25th, 2018) – The BC Sports Hall of Fame is today announcing that longtime Executive Director Allison Mailer will be leaving the not-for-profit society dedicated to the promotion of inspiration through BC sports history, heritage and culture after completing 25 years of service.

“Allison will be leaving the BC Sports Hall of Fame at one of the highest points in its 52-year history of honouring the past and inspiring the future,” said Chair of the Board of Trustees Jim Lightbody. “For an organization that aspires to tell the stories of the most compelling athletes, coaches, teams, executives, officials, pioneers, media, and other leaders in sport in British Columbia, Allison is an important part of our history and we are thankful for all of her contributions over the years. Our organization, specifically our Honoured Members, partners, and volunteers have benefited from her collaborative approach and unique passion for the BC Sports Hall of Fame”

Mailer, who was first hired 24 years ago to expand youth programs at the BC Sports Hall of Fame, is one of the longest-serving employees in the BC sport community.

Although she will turn over day-to-day operations of the BC Sports Hall of Fame to a new chief executive to be hired later this year, Mailer will help the multi-sport organization transition into its new Inspiration 2020 strategic plan as Special Advisor to the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
