Alan Watson is a Canadian writer and longtime sports journalist whose work often focuses on sport and Canadian athletic history. Born in Athabasca, Alberta, and raised in Nelson, British Columbia, he earned a BA in English from Concordia University. Watson has worked as a sports editor at numerous newspapers and has been involved in sports media around the world. Since 2003 he has been a self-published author, writing books that explore sports figures and issues in Canadian sport, including Catch On and Run With It, a detailed biography of influential Canadian sport leader Dr. Bob Hindmarch.
