Michelle Kitchen, CEO
Michelle Kitchen is an executive leader with 25 years of business and marketing leadership experience. Prior as the EVP & Managing Director at global advertising agency DDB Canada, Michelle was responsible for leading the agency’s operations and providing strategic leadership of global and national brands across an array of sectors. Michelle serves on the Board of Directors as Vice President of the Jericho Tennis Club, a non-profit private racquets club, and served 5 years on the Board for Dress for Success.
Jason Beck, Curator & Facility Director
Jason Beck has been with the BC Sports Hall of Fame since 2003 and has served as the Hall’s Curator and Facility Director since 2006. Working with Allison Mailer, he helped lead the Hall of Fame’s renovation efforts and major gallery/exhibition projects including the Indigenous Sport Gallery which won a CMA Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2018. His 2016 book, The Miracle Mile: Stories of the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, was a BC Best-Seller and was featured on an episode of the television game show Jeopardy! He is currently working on his second book on a series of 1950s and 1960s Olympic medal-winning rowing crews from Vancouver.
Barbara Chu, Comptroller
Barbara Chu has been part-time with the BC Sports Hall of Fame since 1999 as an Administrator / Bookkeeper. A year later Norman Fieldgate, Honoured Member, appointed her as “Comptroller” due to her evolving and growing duties. She worked closely alongside the Chair, Trustees, Directors, CEO and the Foundation. Today, her primary focus is on the Hall’s and the Foundation’s yearly financial reports and budgets.
Lucy Holt, Manager, Marketing & Events
Lucy Holt joined the BC Sports Hall of Fame in March 2024, bringing extensive experience in brand, marketing, and events across diverse industries. After relocating to Vancouver in December 2023 and taking a career break to travel, she returned to the professional world with a focus on end-to-end campaign execution. Lucy specializes in aligning marketing, communications, events, and digital touchpoints to drive brand awareness, engage audiences, and deliver measurable results, ensuring that every campaign is both innovative and strategically impactful.
Sherry Wong, Guest Services & Education Coordinator
Sherry Wong joined BC Sports Hall of Fame as the Guest Services and Education Coordinator at the Hall in 2024. Born and raised in Hong Kong, they completed their undergraduate studies in Anthropology before relocating to Vancouver in 2021. With a strong passion for history and culture, they have volunteered and worked at various institutions, including the Museum of Vancouver, the Museum of North Vancouver, and the Chinese Canadian Museum. Currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Heritage Resources Management at Simon Fraser University, Sherry is a dedicated museum enthusiast who loves to explore and learn from museums around the world.
